New St. James said their final good-bye on Saturday to Sis. Gloria Jean Lofton, a respected local business woman and wife to Associate Pastor Rev. Kenneth Lofton. She was 61.

According to her obituary on the Woodard Funeral Services website, Gloria was a long-time resident of Wynne – born and raised. She was the child of William Herbert Purnell and Ida Purnell, who both went home to glory before her.

Gloria was a smart woman, who obtained an Associates degree and eventually started her own business as a licensed Beautician; a business she operated for many years.

She had 3 children, among them is fellow pastor Rev. Daniel Lofton from St. Louis, MO. Gloria also 5 siblings, 2 grandchildren, and many more relatives and friends.

Gloria went home to be with Christ on December 15, 2020 at Cross Ridge Hospital in Wynne. She was laid to rest at Cogbill Cemetery.

New St. James uplifts the Lofton family in prayer for continual strength in the Lord during this difficult time.
