Family and friends were sadden to hear the news that Cecelia “Ce-Ce” Stegall, a longtime Mother Board member and mother to Senior Pastor Rev. Cortez Stegall, passed away on October 9.

According to her obituary from Woodard Funeral Services, Mother Stegall passed away at her home in Wynne, AR. She was 97 and lived a blessed and full life.

Mother Stegall was born Cecelia Lanford Stegall on December 3, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, but lived in Wynne for most of her life. She was a longtime member of New St. James and served for years on the church’s Mother’s Board.

Along with Rev. Stegall, Mother Stegall also leaves behind another son, Jerome Cecil Stegall, who is also from Wynne. She also has a sister, Ina Fay Richie of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, nine great- great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration for Mother Stegall is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021 at New St. James. More details and her full obituary can be read on the Woodard Funeral Service website. She’s expected to be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery in Colt, AR.
